The Commuter Craft Innovator™ kit aircraft program is designed so you can meet the FAA 51% rule, building in a factory-support environment in less than 3 weeks. The typical builder takes an average of 7 years to build a kit aircraft. They also move the project an average of 3 times, damaging and losing parts. With the Commuter Craft Builder Assist Program, you build the airframe in less than 3 weeks. With optional package programs for the engine, instrument, and completion packages, you can have the aircraft finished and flying in less than 3 months.
Having a flying aircraft 6 years sooner is tremendous, along with peace of mind that your aircraft was built in the factory. It also saves a lot of money. Six years of rent and insurance on the typical home-built project alone cost more than the entire build. Lower insurance and increased resale value pay dividends for years to come.
How it works.
You build your Innovator™ in factory jigs and fixtures, eliminating set-up time and reducing build time up to 86%. You will have a trained professional working with you to insure you know the proper way to perform each task with on-site build guide, quality validation checks and process recording tooling. Even the paperwork is automated to keep you on track. You spend your time building, not scratching your head and at the end of the project, you know you built a superior aircraft and have the builder’s log to prove it. The quality of your Innovator Aircraft will be higher than the average home-built project and when you show them how you did it, your friends will be excited to fly with you.
Sales & Support
At Commuter Craft, we are absolutely dedicated to our customers. Our sales strategy is strongly based on creating a network of happy customers who feel they’ve built the right airplane for their needs and had the greatest support possible to make their project a success.
Before you start to build, we will help plan your aircraft so there are no surprises. You will know your options as well as what to expect at each stage of the build. You will build your airframe at the factory and will receive transition flight training as well, becoming part of the Commuter Craft family. You will have an assigned assistant to help you with your build so your aircraft will be of the highest quality and you can truly say that you built it. In a matter of a few short months, you will have a valuable, well-built aircraft based on specifications for how you will fly and for the cost you expected. Meanwhile your buddies will still be reading the manual and planning their homebuilt aircraft.
At Commuter Craft, insurability is a driver of designs and services. Insurance for experimental aircraft like most things, depends on two factors. The insurer’s experience with the airframe and the pilot’s experience in similar aircraft. Many features of the Innovator™ and the build-process were designed to be “Insurance Friendly.” Additionally, each customer will get transition training to provide time in type prior to completion of their aircraft.
